The group of companies Theseus Lab has become the “golden partner» of 79-th General Assembly of the International Electrotechnical Commission, which will be held in the capital of Belarus for the first time on 12-16 of October.
The main topics of the IEC General Assembly, held in Minsk, are stated as follows: “Reasonable use of energy to improve the quality of life” and “uniform requirements and compliance assessment – key conditions for international trade”.
The General Assembly is hosted by the State Committee on Standardization of the Republic of Belarus (Gosstandart), joint stock company of testing and certification of home appliances and industrial products «BELLIS» (JSC «BELLIS») and the Belarusian State Institute of standardization and certification (BelGISS).
The Assembly will be attended by more than 1 500 experts, defining the international policy in the field of standards and markets in such segments of the economy as electronics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, energy efficiency, alternative and renewable energy sources. To participate in the General Assembly 28 technical committees and subcommittees were invited:
- Electrical equipment and systems for railways
- Power electronics for electrical transmission systems and distribution systems
- Equipment for explosive atmospheres
- Intrinsically safe electrical equipment
- Classification of hazardous areas and installation requirements
- Non-electrical equipment and protection systems for explosive atmospheres

- Household washing machines
- Performance characteristics of household and similar cooling and freezing electrical appliances

- Audio, video and information services, and content
- Color measurement and management
- Interfaces and protocols of digital systems
- Storage media, data structure for storage, storage systems and equipment

Meeting will be held from 5th to 16th of October.
14 October at the Assembly our technical expert Ivan Tereh will give a talk on “Delivery to the Republic of Belarus of equipment for household appliances energy efficiency testing”. The report will sum up the results of the implementation of tender EuropeAid/135802/DH/SUP/BY “supply of the equipment for state inspections in the field of energy efficiency and of the equipment for testing the energy efficiency of consumer goods in the Republic of Belarus», which is held with the support of the European Union in the year 2014.
The Group of companies “Theseus Lab” won 8 lots of this tender. At present, the equipment has already been delivered to the Republic of Belarus, Theseus Lab experts together with representatives of the manufacturers carry out mounting of this equipment of immense complexity in the laboratories of Belarusian State Institute of standardization and certification.

The IEC comprises 82 full-fledged members and 82 affiliated members. Belarus became a full member in the year 1993.
